Western civilization, while drawing upon Islamic civilization yet establishing the supremacy of humanism and the notion of separation of religion from politics, was founded upon principles of de-religionization and anti-religionism, making extensive efforts to destroy faith. The influence of Western civilization's domination over Islamic countries and Iran led to the emergence of contemporary religious reform movements such as the movement of Sayyid Jamal al-Din Asadabadi, the Tobacco Protest, the Constitutional Revolution, the Oil Nationalization Movement, among others - none of which ultimately achieved their objectives, though the consequences of each paved the way for the glorious Islamic Revolution of Iran. The glorious Islamic Revolution possesses an inherent nature crystallized in its fundamental principles, established upon an Islamic system based on Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist, which has challenged Western civilization through its soft power. The manifestations of the Islamic Revolution's efficacy from the perspective of the Second Step Statement are multifaceted, including: transforming theories about revolutions, creating a revolution distinct from others, initiating a new era in the contemporary world, and continuing its path as a living, dynamic, proud, progressive movement steadfast in its principles. Over several decades, the comprehensive growth of the Islamic Revolution has resulted in the decline of Western civilization and confrontation against the comprehensive aggression of arrogance. As Seyed Ali Khamenei states in the Second Step Statement of the Revolution: “The new bipolar confrontation between Islam and arrogance has become a prominent phenomenon of the contemporary world and the focal point of global attention”.
