Given the importance of examining the theoretical concepts of security and freedom in sources, particularly in the Holy Quran, this research has been conducted with the aim of theoretically analyzing security and delineating the sphere of freedom. The study employs a descriptive-analytical methodology. In accordance with the research method, the required data has been collected by referring to academic sources, including books, journals, periodicals available in libraries, legal documents and publications, as well as online databases containing credible research articles and theses. The data collection process utilized note-taking tools and techniques. Since the research method is descriptive-analytical, the researcher has not only depicted existing realities but also explained and justified the underlying reasons. Through an exploration of theoretical literature, research background, and categorization of information, the collected data has been systematically analyzed and interpreted. Based on Quranic evidence, when security is framed within faith and righteous deeds, it becomes the fundamental source and basis of freedom at both individual and societal levels. Conversely, any form of insecurity and lawlessness, framed as negative freedom, occurs when faith is absent and replaced by its antithetical attributes - such as polytheism, disbelief, oppression, and arrogance. This inevitably leads to the violation of boundaries and aggression against the individual and social rights of others. In a final inference, employing a discourse analysis approach derived from the Quranic text and through descriptive-analytical methodology, we conclude that fostering spiritual life in the realm of individual and social behavior plays an unparalleled role in moral refinement and education. As individuals distance themselves from corrupt living and rebellion, the sphere of freedom - within the Quranic concept of security - are contingent upon faith and righteous deeds, exemplifying humanity’s role as God’s vicegerent.
