This study aims to provide a theoretical analysis of factors influencing men’s cultural and social capital, particularly focusing on risk-taking behaviors within the family context. The research employs a qualitative approach, gathering data through in-depth interviews with 30 experts until theoretical saturation was reached, complemented by library-based resources. Data were coded and categorized to facilitate comprehensive analysis. The findings reveal that men’s social and cultural capital in the country is at a moderate level, largely reflecting the general societal conditions. Ultimately, the study demonstrates that men’s cultural and social capital significantly affects domestic violence in Tehran. This effect is inverse: as the level of men’s social and cultural capital increases, the incidence of violence against their spouses—across physical, psychological, financial, and various social dimensions—decreases. The results highlight the importance for policymakers and practitioners to focus on enhancing men’s social and cultural capital as a strategy to reduce domestic violence, particularly violence against wives.
