Regional deterrence of the Islamic Republic of Iran against security threats

Abstract

In the history of international relations, deterrence has been considered as one of the most important systems for managing order and maintaining security. Countries are always looking for security in their strategic areas. Deterrence is one of the scientific topics that is considered as a strategic study topic next to war and includes a set of basic principles, rules, theories, ideas, intellectual infrastructure and fundamental principles that are accepted and supported nationally. which is expressed by the political military leaders of the country and according to the doctrine of national security and the ruling military thought. In this regard, the issue that becomes important is thinking about the deterrence model of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Considering Iran's threats and the US military presence, the question can be raised that by applying what kind of security model Iran can use to ensure its security in the strategic area of ​​the Persian Gulf and how can it prevent the occurrence of war, which causes the imposition of large costs? This research, with a descriptive-analytical method, in order to answer the hypothesis of the research that the Islamic Republic of Iran can prevent the possible dangers of war by using elements of deterrence, such as expanding its regional power and strengthening its missile technology, to investigate how deterrence can be done in order to ensure security. The Islamic Republic of Iran has paid in the Persian Gulf.
