Iranian view on Asian politics and neighborhood; Approach measurement of Iranian scientific-research articles 2019-2022

The development research and measurement approach of the knowledge of Iranian international relations can draw the current situation and a step of the ladder of science on which we are standing based on the reality - what is - and based on such research, it becomes possible to draw a path to improve the science of Iranian international relations - what it should be - based on scientific pathology. Based on the findings of the author's past researches in this field, we found that in the debates about neighborhood policy and Asian policy - focused on national interests and expediency - the knowledge of Iranian international relations has suffered from a kind of chronic theoretical poverty. Based on this, in the current research, 614 scientific-research articles published on Iranian international relations in 2001-2018 were examined with the research method of "constructivist foundation data theory" and "categorical content analysis method" based on theoretical keywords And we found out that Iranian researchers of international relations in examining the problems of Iran's neighborhood and Asia, the variables of the foreign policy performance of the Islamic Republic of Iran - both positive and negative - are less investigated and a kind of meaningful research silence can be seen in this field of scientific research, which can be a symptom of acute and untreated "Kissinger syndrome". We also found that a significant part of Iranian researchers of international relations view the performance of American foreign policy in the issues of Iran's neighborhood and Asian policy as an effective influencing variable and examine international issues through the lens of the role of great powers. Here, the lack of attention to the cultural-historical background of foreign relations, geopolitical issues and issues related to border demarcation, lack of effort to provide a solution to maintain and expand foreign relations within the framework of the neighborhood policy, the non-utility of researches, the lack of pathology of the causes of the weakening of some foreign relations and a kind of pessimistic view of the performance of international organizations are evident and can be investigated and rooted in future researches.
