Abstract

Looking back, we realize that the intellectual jihad to expel colonialism from minds and hearts was more difficult than the armed jihad to expel colonialism from the lands of the Islamic world. History has proven that leaving the occupied lands is possible; but victory in the cultural and social fields depended only on the intellectual power of Muslims and accuracy in the areas of belief, reason and philosophy.Jihad means using all one's strength to repel the enemy, which is done in various forms, because the enemy's attack and invasion occurs in different ways. One of the serious and effective attacks by the enemies of Islam, which has caused heavy damage to the structure of Islamic societies, is the cultural invasion. In the present study, the understanding of jihad and its types from the perspective of Islam has been examined, and different classifications have been made, such that a mujahid is someone who fights against the self in obedience to God and should not be satisfied with foreign fighters. The use of various types of jihad requires specific conditions for its use. This research was conducted using the library method and internet search. Various topics and aspects were extracted from authoritative texts and the views and opinions of Sunni and Shiite scholars were examined.
