Economic Analysis of the Impacts of the North-South Corridor on Iran's Economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges

This article analyzes the economic impacts of the North-South Corridor on Iran's economic development. The North-South Corridor project, as a transportation route from the Caspian Sea to the Arabian Sea through the transit of Iran's neighboring countries, provides great opportunities for Iran's economic development. Among the positive impacts of this project are increased trade, infrastructure development, employment, and industrial and agricultural development. However, there are also challenges such as environmental issues, etc. that require careful study and effective solutions; therefore, the main question of this article is based on the following: What impact has the North-South Corridor had on Iran's economic development and what opportunities and challenges has it created on the path to realizing this development? In response to the main question, it should be said as a hypothesis that the implementation of the North-South Corridor as a major transportation and transportation project can increase Iran's economic development potential. This development includes increased trade, infrastructure development, employment, and industrial and agricultural development. However, this development may face challenges such as environmental issues, political challenges and transit competitions, and technical problems related to the project, and this article analyzes various aspects of the economic impacts of the North-South Corridor and its effects on Iran's economic development.
