Abstract

Since the emergence of the United States as a world superpower over the past few decades, there has been constant discussion about its imminent hegemonic decline. The emergence of non-traditional security threats, especially after September 11, along with the deep-rooted problems in American society, has called into question the tenacity and continuity of its hegemony. Moreover, long-term economic instability in the US-led global political economy is becoming increasingly complex. More importantly, the rapid economic growth of China and other emerging powers traditionally considered to be of the South represents a shift in the global order. Some researchers have theorized about the transformation of the global order. By emphasizing some indicators of power and comparing them with previous periods, these theorists have concluded that other competitors, and in particular America's eastern competitors, are transforming the world into a multipolar world. The main question of the present study is: What is the position of America in the emerging global order? In response to the above question, the following hypothesis is put forward: signs of change in the global order have caused Eastern powers such as China to engage in balancing efforts against the US-centered order, and this has led to a change in America's position in the global order. The research method is qualitative and content analysis was used to examine the problem.
