Abstract

Paying attention to the concept of citizens' sense of security in the country's population and the factors affecting it has always been considered as one of the basic priorities. The influence of security on the economy, culture, industry, and especially religiosity and its impact on all branches of development and human life give it a fundamental role, and the factors affecting it must be recognized. Accordingly, this study was conducted with the aim of sociologically explaining the effect of religiosity on the sense of security. This study was quantitative and was conducted using a survey method. The required information was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. The questionnaire has face validity and its reliability has been confirmed by Cronbach's alpha (0.75). The statistical population of the study is all people in Tehran, and 384 people were selected as the sample size and were selected using stratified random sampling method. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 23 software in the form of descriptive and inferential statistics. The final result of the study revealed that there is a positive, direct, and significant relationship between religiosity and sense of security in all its dimensions, and religiosity explains 21.2 percent of individuals' sense of security. Therefore, religious spirit and religious beliefs will play an important role in explaining the sense of security of individuals in society. Therefore, the optimal use of religious capacities and religious spirit of individuals will lead to the formation of sustainable social security and ultimately the comprehensive development of society.
